Split Collective is a group of over sixty painters and sculptors from Ireland, the UK, Europe and the U.S. all of whom have come through the Turps and MASS correspondence course and onsite programs. The collective was formed through a common desire to strengthen bonds and to support each other’s creative work into the future.

The exhibition opens on 5th November and runs through to the 14th. An exclusive opening night will be held on Thursday 5th November from 6-9pm welcoming all art lovers, critics, and the local community.

The definition of Convergence is the process of coming together from different directions and meeting. The act of joining together to create a new whole. Convergence is Split Collectives first exhibition in Dublin and only its second outside the UK.

In 2025, Split Collective staged a travelling show, Split, in the UK. Starting in February in Wrexham with The Dispensary Gallery, moving to Cross Street Arts in Wigan culminating at Candid Arts Trust in London in June of that year. Being curated for each venue as it travelled, it was a huge undertaking creatively and logistically. Its success proved the collectives creative and organisational skills, creating a template for the collectives exhibition program. This Year the 2026 exhibitions built and expanded on this success. Beginning in Guernsey with Response, where it showed in two locations.

In November Split Collective will converge on Dublin in the aptly named City Assembly House. This beautiful space was the first purpose built public art gallery in Britain and Ireland. It was erected in the 18th century with the expressed aim of promoting the work of Irish artists and providing an academy for the arts. This underlines what is important to us, to come together, to assemble, to converge and share our collective voice.

Convergence, is a first step beyond the borders of both Turps and the UK. While the exhibitions of 2025 were intended to reflect the energetic, progressive dynamic of the Turps/MASS experience, the 2026 shows are a survey of work created post-mentorship.
